Why Mackyclyde Exists
Mackyclyde SEO was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2020 by Nnabuike Precious. At the agency he worked for before, he kept seeing the same client walk in: a business that wanted SEO accountable to revenue, couldn't justify the retainers big agencies charge, and had already been burned by a freelancer who hopped to the next project the moment things got hard. Nobody was built for that client. Mackyclyde was started to be — enterprise-level strategy at fees a growing Malaysian business can actually carry, explained straight enough that owners stop buying the delusions this industry is happy to sell them.
The premise hasn't changed since: most SEO engagements in Malaysia fail because they're built backwards. The agency picks keywords, chases positions, and sends a monthly PDF — and whether any of it produced an enquiry is nobody's problem. We start from the revenue target and work back to the search demand that can feed it. Sometimes that means telling a client the keyword they want is the wrong one. That conversation has cost us pitches. It's also why clients stay.
Ang Zheng Yen joined as co-founder, and the team has grown to 6 specialists covering technical SEO, content strategy, local search, and AI visibility.
